SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: Local authorities responded to a four-vehicle crash on S.R. 48 and U.S. 41 that resulted in four people being transported to area hospitals for injuries, one with serious bodily injury, and a driver charged with Criminal Recklessness and Reckless Driving.
According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, a driver in a pickup truck was traveling north on U.S. 41 and disregarded a red light. The driver, later identified as Matthew Schludecker, then collided with three other vehicles.
Sheriff Jason Bobbitt said U.S. 41 was closed for 6 hours while crews cleaned-up the scene and that the names of the injured are not being released at this time.

Sullivan County Sheriff Jason Bobbit said that a blue ford truck ran the red light at a high rate of speed and struck three vehicles.
Multiple people were reportedly taken to an area hospital by ambulance from the scene. No word as to the extent of their injuries. The sheriff added that Indiana State Police is performing an accident reconstruction.
While crews clean up the scene, Sheriff Bobbitt said northbound traffic remains closed down and advises drivers to avoid the area if possible.
