TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Fire Department responded to a fire that occurred at the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute on Monday morning.
According to THFD Chief Bill Berry, an electrical fire was caused by a ventilation fan. Berry also noted that everyone had been evacuated before THFD crews arrived on the scene.
Berry said there were no injuries and that the fire was extinguished in seconds.
