TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Rose-Hulman has made it to the number one spot on the Wall Street Journal’s list of The Best 10 Colleges That Aren’t the Usual Suspects.
According to a release from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the list uses a benchmark that shows how well “colleges improve the trajectories of their students’ careers” and RHIT made it to the top spot.
The other universities listed following Rose-Hulman were the University of Illinois, Brigham Young University (Utah), Florida International University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York), New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of La Verne (California), and Stevens Institute of Technology.
“This latest ranking is a testament to Rose-Hulman’s ability to attract high-achieving students from throughout the world who are passionate about STEM and go on to apply their creative and analytical skills in careers that have a meaningful impact on society,” Robert A. Coons Rose-Hulman President said.
Across the country, RHIT ranked 17th in the Best College in the Nation guide, along with other educational institutions such as Princeton, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, and Harvard.
RHIT has earned its spot on other Wall Street Journal lists according to the release, gaining recognition for number one rankings in, “both learning opportunities and learning facilities, with students specifically citing interactions with faculty, collaboration with other students, available campus workspaces, and satisfaction with physical classroom/teaching spaces.”
The institution also ranked second in the U.S. for how likely students would recommend the college to others, and fourth in career prep.
