FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Farmersburg capped off their Old Settlers Festival Sunday with church in the park.
The event was hosted by Friendship Baptist Church, and all were welcome to attend.
It was held in George Heap Memorial Park, and, despite the heat, the park benches were full.
After a weekend that included a fish fry, live music, and a parade, residents say it was nice to sit and relax to end the week.
Pastor Jim Larger says the church aims to get out in the community and touch new people.
“We enjoy the park immensely. It is just nice to do something different, to be out in our community. We care about our community. We want to do everything we can do be an encouragement, be a blessing, to, not only our people, but to reach out to those that need help, need hope, and need love and our church is all about that.”
