TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the impacts of the last winter storm lingers around the Wabash Valley, another round of winter weather is heading for the region.
According to WTWO/WAWV’s Chief Meteorologist Jesse Walker, the Wabash Valley saw around 6-9 inches of snow from Monday to Sunday, with 7 to 8 inches of snow falling down in Terre Haute.
The impact of this storm was felt all around the valley, causing dangerous road conditions and below freezing temperatures. This led to school and business closing all around the area.
Then Friday, another surge of winter weather will make its way to the area. Here’s what we can expect.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), portions of the Wabash Valley will be remained under a winter weather advisory until January 11, at 4 a.m.
Snowfall in the valley could range from 2 to 4 inches with a few isolated 5″ totals possible. The majority of the snow will be reaching our area after 8 a.m. ET, Friday afternoon.
Chief Meteorologist Jesse Walker said, this round of snow will be a much dryer snow. This dryer snow means it will be more of a dry, fluffy snow. There will not be any freezing rain or ice with this storm.
