TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Just a few days after a surge of winter weather more snow is making its way to the Wabash Valley.
A spokesperson with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) said, they have already begun pre-treating roads ahead of Friday’s storm. They also said, starting Friday morning, they will have call out of snowplow drivers throughout the entire southwest district of Indiana.
Public Information Director for INDOT, Gary Brian, gave some tips for drivers navigating snowy roads.
“So don’t crowd the plow is what we say. Give our plow drivers plenty of room. Our crews have a lot of moving parts you know between having to handle you know what’s out front of them driving this large vehicle and also putting down salt or any other things. There’s a lot of moving parts going on so give our crews lots of grace lots of room and for that matter do that for anybody come across while the snow is coming down. When you’re driving just be safe, give extra room for everybody and it will all work out,” Brian said.
