PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — You can learn life-saving skills during a first responder certification course being offered by Horizon Health.
The ten-week course will take place from March 19 through April 24 at the Horizon Health Education Center in Paris, Illinois.
EMT and EMS educator, Sean Robison said, the class is offered to people aged 16 and older.
The Horizon Health Foundation secured a $200,000 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. That funding allows Horizon Health to offer the class for free to ten participants.
“This is going to benefit not only the employees that will receive the training here through Sean and the EMS program, the students that are participating in the program, potential careers for them, so the economic impact and the impact on our community health is going to be amazing,” said Executive Director of the Horizon Health Foundation Randi Bohannon.
The deadline to register for the class is March 3, and you can register here.
