TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Thanks to so many of you, Vigo County school children in need will have extra food for the summer.
Our station teamed up with local organizations for our annual Pack it Back for the Summer program. We’ve been collecting food donations from the community. Friday, that food was put into backpacks to be sent home with students in need during summer break.
“It’s really important for these kids this summer to have some nice food to eat over the summer,” said Scott Jaeger, President of Toyota of Terre Haute. “On top of that, they get a great backpack so they can use next year, and for a lot of kids we know that backpacks are a real important part of their lives when they show up to school every year.”
We would like to thank everyone in the community who donated to help make this program possible.
