EDGAR COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Part of Illinois Route 1 is closed in Edgar County after an accident.
Illinois State Police responded to Route 1 and 700 N around 1:45 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, they found a two-vehicle crash involving a truck tractor semi-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
One person was brought to a nearby hospital with injuries.
The Edgar County Sheriff’s Office said Route 1 South of Paris at 750 N is closed for southbound traffic, and northbound traffic is being rerouted at Hill Road. The sheriff’s office also asked drivers to avoid the area as it may be closed for an “extended” time.
