GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A nearby civilian is being praised for their heroic efforts after saving three individuals from their sinking boat on White River in Greene County.
On Saturday, May 24th the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement responded to a water rescue on White River north of the Worthington Public Access Site in Greene County.
According to Indiana Conservation Officer Cody Hollingsworth, three occupants were on board of a watercraft when it began taking on water and capsized. At the time, a citizen was nearby in their boat during the time of the accident and able to rescue all three victims.
All victims were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Assisting the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement include the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Worthington Fire Department, and the Greene County Ambulance Service.
