TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A popular kids’ club will make its return to the Terre Haute Farmers Market this upcoming weekend.
GrowTH Club is an initiative featuring different activities focused on nutrition, physical wellness, and gardening for children. The club will take place every Saturday until August 24th.
In collaboration with the Vigo County Health Department, and Vigo County Purdue Extension, the club is completely free, and participants under the age of 18 will even receive a $3 coupon to use on local vendors.
“(We) just wanted to create a better, healthier food environment and just get kids out and excited about eating healthier,” said Chloee Page with Purdue Extension. “This is consistent all summer long. Kids know that if they go to the farmers market every Saturday this summer, they’re going to have a great time.”
The GrowTH Club will be in attendance for the first time this season at the Terre Haute Farmer’s Market on Saturday, May 31st from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
