TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Terre Haute Police Department released details on the large police presence that shut down a portion of 8th Street on Friday evening.
Police stated that just before 6 p.m. on October 10, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North 8th Street after reports of shots being fired. Police stated that one person was injured and that the incident is under investigation. Officers said that the injured individual was being treated at a local hospital for their injuries.
Officers stated that they believe the shooting to be an isolated event and was not related to the homecoming festivities at the nearby college. Police stated that all the individuals involved in the incident have been identified.
