TERRE HAUTE Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The nation welcomed the new year early this morning with good cheer and friends. When the party ends and everyone returns home for the day we are left to self reflect.
A popular saying for the new year is “new year, new me,” but some are looking a little deeper and setting more selfless goals for 2020.
When asked what their New Year’s resolutions were, one person responded with a more family oriented goal.
“My New Year’s resolution would be to try and do more things outside this year, once it warms up, with the kids. Do more family activities.
Honestly get better grades and spend more time with my neices and nephew.”
Some of the most popular resolution topics across the Wabash Valley include money, time spent, exercise and healthier eating habits.
“Well I work at McDonalds so I’m definitely going to eat less McDonalds,” one person said. “Yeah I’ll just think healthier when it comes to purchasing food and stuff like that.”
And we can’t forget our favorite trooper! Matt Ames chimed in with his New Year’s resolution too.
“Just to get in a little bit better shape of course like everyone…and try to become a better public information officer for the Putnamville State Police post.”
Sgt. Matt Ames, Indiana State Police
One tip for those making goals this year, stay reasonable, within your means and think outside of the box. New experiences and adventures can make for an eventful and fun year.
