TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local center that helps people battling substance use disorder is hoping new services offered will eliminate barriers to treatment.
WIN Recovery is a certified opioid treatment center, operated by Hamilton Center.
The organization recently announced it is now prescribing Suboxone and Buprenorphine for people seeking medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
That is in addition to their Methadone treatment option.
Annamarie Coy is a Clinical Supervisor at WIN Recovery, and she says the expansion in treatment options will help people who require medications other than methadone for treating opioid use disorder.
“Buprenorphine is the standard for pregnancy and expecting mothers because it is a safer alternative to being in continuous addiction,” Coy said.
In addition to medication, WIN Recovery uses counseling and case management services to help each patient.
