TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Tornado warning sirens were heard in portions of Vigo County Tuesday afternoon as severe storms rolled through the area.
Vigo County was placed under a tornado warning for a time just before 4:30 p.m.
No tornado was reported and there were no reports of damage from Tuesday’s storms.
The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has placed northern portions of the Valley under a slight risk of severe weather for Wednesday. Our southern counties are under an enhanced risk.
Damaging winds, lightning, hail and tornados will all be possible again Wednesday.
The same weather system wreaked havoc on parts of the Midwest Tuesday including in Portage, Michigan, where a suspected tornado touched down, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. No injuries have been reported there.
In Greenville, Ohio, there were reports of several downed power lines and trees following severe storms there.
Some have blocked city streets and fallen onto homes.
There are also reports of flood damage in some areas. Multiple homes and buildings have also sustained damage.
